The Hug 'n' Hold was originally conceived and created when my husband was serving in Kuwait with the Navy Reserves for nine months at the beginning of the war. Our youngest son was about 18 months old when he left, and ever since he was 10 months old, he was very challenging to change without 2 people. I used to say that he was definitely a two parent child. When I would put a leg over him to change his diaper on the floor, he just considered it a challenge, and tried even harder to get up. While my husband was gone, I got tired of the struggle, and developed a strapping system that kept him down on a pad. It worked very well for him, so he finally just gave up. Once my husband came back, I started working on patenting, product development, and found a manufacturer.
